How involved should a parent get with the father of their daughter's baby if they aren't yet married?

My daughter is Pregnant, and she is not engaged, she does not want to get married, but we would like the baby to have a father. How involved should we get in this situation and the biological father?

They live in our town, and my daughter is in her late twenties but still relies on us for a great deal of things, financial and otherwise.

Just my opinion, but I would suggest that you get as involved as your daughter wants you to be. Sit down with her first, know her feelings, then treat both people like consenting adults.

Does she really want her baby? If so, she should made aware what parenthood means. If she is not financially independant, how is she then going to raise a family?
