Choking game is scary - how to stop the "invincible" child

Your blog post about the choking game is really terrifying. As an adult, I can't help but simply wonder "WHY!?!?" But it appears to come down to invincibility.

Is there a way I can talk to my child about life and consequences that would "show them the light" - they are NOT invincible! This game shows me that not even a brush with death scares kids anymore. Look at the X-Games and adventure sports out there.

I just want my children to be safe, but it's a matter of getting through to them about the real dangers involved in some of these activities.

I think one of the hardest realizations for parents to come to is that they can not keep their children safe all the time. The best we do is to give them access to some of our experiences have faith that they will when the time comes make the right decissions.
